Snow & Heat Miser song “Brothers” from A Miser Brothers’ Christmas 2008

08.21.11

I’m posting this clip from “A Miser Brothers’ Christmas” because I like the meaning behind the song “Brothers” which is sung here and it gives you a glimpse of when they were young and what happened to make them fight with each other all these years. Plus the song the Brothers sing at the end of this video is reversed in the way they are singing each others lyrics. What are your thoughts on it? A Miser Brothers’ Christmas is a stop motion spin-off special based on the characters from 1974 Rankin-Bass special The Year Without a Santa Claus. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the rights holders of the post-1973 Rankin Bass library and Toronto-based Cuppa Coffee Studios, the one-hour special premiered on ABC Family December 13, 2008 during the network’s The 25 Days of Christmas Christmas programming. Snow Miser, originally portrayed by Dick Shawn who died in 1987, was voiced by Juan Chioran, while Mrs. Claus, who was voiced by Shirley Booth, who died in 1992, was done in this special by Catherine Disher. Christmas Song – AMY GRANT- Winter Wonderland(lyrics)

07.13.11

Christmas Song – AMY GRANT- Winter Wonderland lyrics: Sleigh bells ring, are you listenin’ In the lane, snow is glistenin’ A beautiful sight We’re happy tonight Walkin’ in a winter wonderland. Gone away is the bluebird Here to stay is a new bird He sings a love song As we stroll along Walkin’ in a winter wonderland. In the meadow we can build a snowman And pretend that he is Parson Brown He’ll say Are you married?, we’ll say No, man, But you can do the job when you’re in town. Later on, we’ll conspire As we dream by the fire To face unafraid The plans that we’ve made Walkin’ in a winter wonderland.

Decorating Your Christmas Tree

06.06.11

With the Christmas holiday season fast approaching it’s time to start thinking about decorating your home for Christmas. While there are many areas of the home that can be decorated most of us focus our attention on the Christmas Tree. Here are some things to think about when decorating your Christmas Tree to ensure it makes a beautiful festive focal point in your home during the holiday season.

The most common Christmas decoration found on a Christmas tree is usually the lights. Christmas lights (or fairy lights) are small lights that tend to be multicolored or white. These days Christmas lights are fairly inexpensive and come in many shapes and sizes, from different colored bulbs to different shapes and lighting effects. A large number of Christmas tree owners use Christmas lights to decorate their Christmas trees. Depending on the type of Christmas lights you use, if you choose to use them at all, you may be able to set your lights to play a Christmas tune or flash in a certain pattern.

Aside from Christmas lights, Christmas ornaments are another one of the most commonly used Christmas decorations, for Christmas trees. Traditional Christmas ornaments are ball-shaped and are typically colored red, green, silver, or gold. However, you can buy ornaments today in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and styles. From Santa Claus and his reindeer to candy canes and even Disney Princesses, you’re sure to find something to suit every taste and decor. Christmas ornaments are most commonly hung from Christmas tree branches using ornament hooks, yarn, or thread.

You can add texture and color to your tree with garland or tinsel. Garland, when used to decorate a Christmas tree, is often intertwined with Christmas lights. Christmas garland also comes in a number of different styles; popular garland styles include floral garland and beaded garland. It is also possible to find pre-lighted garland which has Christmas lights attached to it already. The main purpose of pre-lighted garland is to reduce the amount of time it takes to decorate a Christmas tree.

The finishing touch is often a Christmas Tree Topper. While Christmas tree toppers, like all other Christmas decorations, come in a wide variety of different sizes, shapes, and styles, they are most commonly sold as angels. Other popular toppers include stars, crosses, and Santas. In addition to coming in different sizes, you will find that many Christmas tree toppers are designed to light up with Christmas lights, and some may even play a musical Christmas tune.

You probably have a number of Christmas decorations and ornaments left over from last year but if you need to buy new items this Christmas you should be able to find the items mentioned in this article at a large number of retailers, both on and offline. For affordable Christmas decorations check your local dollar stores, discount stores, or department stores. For the largest selection of Christmas tree decorations, you might need to shop online or at a local specialty Christmas shop.

To complete this How-To you will need: A Christmas tree Ornament hooks, string, or ribbon Ornaments A tree topper Green florist’s wire Step 1: Gather hanging materials Make sure you have enough ornament hooks. If you have pets, use ribbon or string instead. You never know when they’re going to get their paws on—or sink their teeth into—an ornament. Tip: Hang ornaments with green florist’s wire, which blends in better than ornament hooks. Step 2: Hang lights and tinsel first String the lights and tinsel or garland before hanging any ornaments. Step 3: Start with matching sets Start by hanging sets of matching ornaments so you can disperse them evenly. Step 4: Create depth Hang some ornaments close to the tree trunk. They shouldn’t all be teetering on the tips of the branches. Step 5: Balance things out Put the heaviest ornaments on the sturdier, inside branches. But don’t forget to put some smaller, lighter ones there, too, for balance. Tip: If you have an ornament that would benefit from backlighting, dangle it near a tree light. Step 6
